Daily Market Report – April 28, 2026

US markets declined today: S&P 500 (SPX) -0.5%, Nasdaq Composite -0.9%, Dow (DJI) -0.1%; the main pressure came from AI stocks following reports of missed OpenAI targets.

Oracle (ORCL), Nvidia (NVDA), AMD (AMD), Broadcom (AVGO), and CoreWeave (CRWV) were under pressure; the market is reassessing whether AI investments will deliver sufficient returns ahead of earnings from Alphabet, Amazon, Meta, Microsoft, and Apple.

Oil remained the second factor weighing on the market: Brent was quoted above $110, WTI near $100; the reasons were the Iran/Hormuz conflict and the report of the UAE's exit from OPEC/OPEC+.

Individual stocks: Coca-Cola (KO) rose after strong numbers, General Motors (GM) benefited from outlook and results, UPS (UPS) fell due to weaker results and risks associated with rising energy prices, Spotify (SPOT) lost significantly after a disappointing subscriber outlook.
