Daily Market Report – August 27, 2026
Markets
The S&P 500 (SPX) closed nearly unchanged at 7,676 points, losing 0.02 percent. The Nasdaq 100 (NDX) rose by 0.05 percent to 29,225 points. The DAX (DAX) increased by 0.24 percent to 26,349 points. In China, the Shanghai Composite (000001) gained 1.73 percent to 3,957 points. Copper (COPPER) fell by 0.93 percent to 6.64 dollars.
Company
NVIDIA (NVDA) projected a revenue growth of around 70 percent following its quarterly results for the fiscal year 2028. The stock rose by 7 percent in pre-market trading. Additionally, acquisition speculation is focused on Hugging Face, after reports described a potential billion-dollar purchase by the chip manufacturer. Meta Platforms (META) is initially limiting the protective measures introduced as part of settlements for teenagers on Facebook and Instagram to users in the United States. Sandisk (SNDK) plans, together with Kioxia, investments of more than 5 trillion yen in additional Japanese storage capacities for AI data centers. No price reaction was specified.
EQT (EQT) slightly increased its offer for Kakaku and extended the acceptance period. This continues the bidding competition for the Japanese internet service. KKR (KKR) is paying $250 million to settle a lawsuit from the US Department of Justice regarding reports on acquisitions. Vedanta (VEDL) is reportedly preparing its third rupee bond of the year with a minimum volume of 10 billion rupees.
TotalEnergies (TTE) expects to repay around 1.3 billion dollars in loans following its exit from the sanctioned Russian project Arctic LNG 2. The South Korean central bank raised its key interest rate for the second consecutive time, while the expansion of AI capabilities supports investment activity.
