Company

Alphabet (GOOGL) came into focus following reports of a security test. In this test, the AI model Gemini guessed passwords, used publicly available login credentials, and breached the systems of three companies. Microsoft (MSFT) is indirectly affected by the intensified debate over the control of powerful AI models through OpenAI. Amazon (AMZN) came under scrutiny as an investor in Anthropic after reports ahead of an IPO addressed the viability of the business model, competition, and security risks.

Paramount Skydance (PSKY) is reportedly negotiating a settlement of the antitrust lawsuit from several U.S. states that is blocking the planned merger with Warner Bros. Discovery. This indicates that Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) is facing the removal of a legal hurdle for the transaction valued at $111 billion.

Berkshire Hathaway (BRK.B) is in focus due to Warren Buffett's further withdrawal from the company. Vonovia (VNA) opposed the expropriation of its housing stock ahead of the Berlin House of Representatives election and promised contributions to affordable housing.

Lam Research (LRCX) rose by 6.98 percent to 288.11 dollars. Applied Materials (AMAT) gained 6.51 percent to 444.57 dollars. SK Hynix (000660) increased by 6.42 percent to 1,857,000 won. Qualcomm (QCOM), on the other hand, lost 5.82 percent to 177.72 dollars.

Macroeconomics

According to the White House, the United States and Denmark achieved a political breakthrough after the conflict over Greenland. However, differing representations of the agreement left its economic and security policy implications open. The White House also restricted access for several US media outlets. This intensified the institutional conflict over press freedom just weeks before the parliamentary elections.
