Daily Market Report – October 1, 2026

The S&P 500 (SPX) is currently trading 0.34 percent higher at 7,678 points. The Nasdaq 100 (NDX) gained 0.55 percent to 30,575 points. Rising financing costs, however, weighed on the DAX (DAX), which lost 1.03 percent to 24,939 points. In Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 (NI225) rose by 3.30 percent to 68,957 points. After a 24-year high, the yield on ten-year US Treasury bonds (US10Y) fell by around 8 basis points to 5.22 percent. Brent crude oil (UKOIL) increased by 2.97 percent to $100.94.
Company
Accenture (ACN) exceeded expectations with revenue and order intake. The stock closed 18.60 percent higher at 217.49 dollars. Alphabet (GOOGL) began the rollout of its AI model Gemini 4 Argon. At the same time, compensation claims of more than 3.2 billion dollars related to its advertising technology business were revealed. SpaceX (SPCX) brought a crew to the International Space Station and is set to transport Google AI chips for satellite-based data centers into space. Tencent (0700) is reportedly renting 100,000 chips from Oracle (ORCL) for data centers in Southeast Asia. Due to a shortage of memory chips, Samsung Electronics (005930) raised the prices of most models in its Galaxy S26 series by 100 dollars.
Volkswagen (VOW3) is collaborating with the British software developer Wayve on autonomous vehicles. General Motors (GM) reported a decline in US sales of 5.5 percent for the third quarter. Toyota (7203), on the other hand, supported its US sales with electric and hybrid vehicles. Tesla (TSLA) was about to release its delivery numbers. Despite the weak annual performance, analysts reduced their sales recommendations.
Cboe Global Markets (CBOE) is examining perpetual futures contracts on its own volatility index, thereby transferring a product format known from cryptocurrency trading. UBS (UBSG) rejected a demand from an investor to relocate the company's headquarters from Switzerland. Commerzbank (CBK) is reportedly considering Michael Diederich as a possible successor at the executive board's helm.
Boeing (BA) came under scrutiny after the thwarted attack by a pilot on a 737 with 174 people on board. Exxon Mobil (XOM) filed for protection from climate lawsuits with the Supreme Court of the United States together with a Canadian oil company. Netflix (NFLX) is growing slower than the management aimed for, according to its co-CEO Ted Sarandos.
Macroeconomics
President Donald Trump criticized the approval of Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Warsh during the last interest rate hike. ECB President Christine Lagarde called for independent European AI capabilities to reduce dependence on foreign models.
